Dust Collection Upgrade

The scope of this project was to improve the dust collection efficiency of a secondary crushing system by replacing two existing dust collectors with a new dust collector that could provide additional capacity. This included the design of foundations and support structures for the new dust collector as well as new collection hoods and rerouted ductwork. Key challenges in this project include the following:

• Retrofitting the ductwork and dust return systems to the existing process while providing adequate access to maintain the new and existing equipment;
• Completing the design process with an aggressive schedule.
